the plan
Our hope was to sound deaden the rear interior of the Pinz for a quieter
ride. We decided to use a roll in bed liner to accomplish our mission.
a helpful bit of advice
So, our advice? Use a wire brush attachment for an angle grinder to help
with prep and brush or roll on the bedliner. Oh, and make sure its
daylight outside.
the outcome
We probably cannot stress how important the prep is when doing something
like this. I lined the tub of my Jeep with good results, but only after
extensively prepping everything. Because of the overall area of the
rear, Mike used a wire brush attachment for an angle grinder. It made
the job of scuffing up the paint pretty easy.
We had heard using an inexpensive paint sprayer to spray on the bed
liner was the easiest way. We officially disagree. We were unable to get
an even spray coat no matter how we adjusted the psi or nozzle size. In
the end, we ended up using some cheap paint brushes to spread things
out more evenly.
For what it cost and how it looks, we are very happy. We used Rustoleum
Bedliner from Autozone. A gallon was about $55. We ended up using almost
a gallon and a half to help even out what the sprayer did not take care
of. It took Mike a few hours to prep the back and another couple to
spray/roll on the liner. The project could easily be done in a day.
Pictures are coming.
